I hate to disillusion you, but I *do* get sucked into drama. I don't do it as much now as I used to, but sometimes I can be a real drama-whore. That's usually not mixed up with me giving advice, though.
You're blunt and you usually have a reason for giving the advice you give. That right there puts you up at the top, regardless of almost any other factor.
Well, people get so wrapped up in what's going on with themselves, that they can't see that there may be a very simple answer. And anyone else who sees it doesn't want to be like, "duh, what about THIS?" And you come forward with honesty and logic, and that often turns into VERY good advice.
