On the baby....
She can now hold her own rattle - and shake it! and put it in her mouth! on purpose! and drop it and look at it longingly! or thwap herself in the face!
Ana's more excited about this than any of us, including the baby, is. She loves helping the baby get the rattle (we hold it up for her, and she reaches out for it), and when the baby holds it and starts to shake it (badly, but she's young yet) she'll go, in these reverant tones "YOOK! She hoding it... by self!!!!"
The baby can also sit very upright for a few seconds before slumping down, and fairly upright (moreso than before) for quite a while before falling into her older sitting position. Ana's finally grasping the concept of "No, we don't hold her, we let her sit by herself so she learns. We just put our arms out like this so she can't fall", and, again, is thrilled to go "She sitting by self!"
(Ana tangent - the kid is very sensitive to perceived snubs of her sister. Heaven save the innocent who says bye-bye to Ana but neglects to "say bye-bye Eva!", or who forgets that Eva gets a kiss too....)
Um...
She can roll over, apparently, from her stomach to her back, and she's an expert at rolling from her back to her side, and back again.
She's still pretty boring. She'll be more interesting when she's old enough to cause trouble, I'm sure.
