Did I do something wrong?

She asks a question. I answer it, albeit rather tersely. I'm not paid enough to be nice to people, y'know? She replies rather snittily (or so I thought). I point out the error in her statement, and I get called a bitch?

*looks down*

Nope, no fur. Still a biped.

Edit: She also appears to take offense to my answering questions I don't know with "you should check the support area". Well, I'm sorry, but I'm starting to notice that asking questions off of the support area tends to lead you to get a number of erroneous answers. Sad, but true.

(That, or I've been saying a lot of VERY wrong things to people on the boards, a truly scary thought)

Edit: I love you guys, I really do. But, please, can we stop troll-feeding? Sooner or later LJDrama or fandom_wank is going to pick up on it, and those people hate me. Which doesn't really bother me, but I like my actual journal being the first google result again.

Edit again: We're all made up.

Our love. It's so special.

I hate it when people overreact like that. God forbid you actually give her correct information on the subject she's inquiring about.

And this comes just (literally) minutes after I've decided to get back into support.

I'd forgotten how nasty some of them can be. Oh well.

I just couldn't keep my mouth shut. :x

This is why I won't answer Support-y stuff anywhere but on the Boards. No sense in getting pissed off at idiots (who are EVERYwhere on LJ).

[identity profile] panda-cookie.livejournal.com 2005-05-31 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
No, you weren't acting wrong. You were, if anything, very professional, in my opinion. Not snotty at all. I took exception to her comments. They really WEREN'T called for.

*reads*

Sometimes you do come off rude, but in this case? She needs to unwad her panties.

Sheesh.

Also, is it me, or is there a high percentage of complete asstards in the [livejournal.com profile] news comments?

Actually, if you're going to get to the nitty gritty of the word bitch, it wouldn't make you a dog. It'd make you Diana.

[identity profile] leora.livejournal.com 2005-05-31 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
No, and I commented to her.

She annoyed me.

[identity profile] neurotica0.livejournal.com 2005-05-31 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, when I google you, your journal is the first thing to come up, followed by your info page.

[identity profile] leora.livejournal.com 2005-05-31 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
The ex-admin in me is mildly annoyed by some of the followup comments though.

There are two kinds of abandoned accounts:
accounts that were used and no longer are being used
accounts with no entries, no comments posted, no comments received, and aren't being logged into

the former are safe, at least if they have any entries

the latter may one day be deleted and purged.

Some of the latter are even people who signed up for an account, didn't get around to using it, forgot their password, and changed email addresses. They'd like them to be purged so they can have their own username back. Some are accidental creations then abandoned. Brad has discussed the possibility of someday deleting these types of accounts with a system of warning people to log in if they want to keep the account.

However, currently no such system exists and they are clearly not going to be deleted. But I wish people wouldn't state permanent policy decisions so broadly that it ignores the different types of abandoned accounts.

It's weird how these things happen. If I google my name, it's nothing from my actual journal that comes up.

Diana (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diana_%28goddess%29).

[identity profile] xiggaroo.livejournal.com 2005-05-31 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
That's where the word bitch comes from. Her pet name, I guess, was bitch.

I don't know. A friend's senior project was on this, she could explain better. But yeah.
