Sky Rink pictures...
I was looking at a random person's journal. She had the hugest pictures of "NYC" up, including several of a skating rink. And I was just staring at those pictures, because I knew, without even seeing the words, that this was Sky Rink (it was, too, I wasn't just crazy). It's not even in the same building it used to be in, and I recognized it.
When I was little, Jenn and I got out of school early once a week (was it Thursdays?) to go skating. Jenn was fairly good, and I... well, I needed something to improve my coordination. And we'd go, and there was always Gian, and those child-actress-type-kids, and... I don't know. This was ages ago. We still have all our old skates, too.
And then it got too expensive, so we just took our dance lessons, and then years later Sky Rink moved to Chelsea Piers, and then it got used as a morgue after 9/11.
Wow. From cheery reminiscing to tragedy in three paragraphs. Sorry about that.
