OMG guys there is a baby squirrel under the eaves at my back window

I repeat, a baby squirrel.

Or... well, a child squirrel? It's not a baby baby, it's furred and alone and eensy and also miserably wet. But not so teensy weensy that it obviously shouldn't be out by itself.

I wish for photos of the smol squirrel but I don't want to impose either, so I will only send my jealousy for this blessing bestowed upon you.

It was very cute, and that's what's important.

I've done it, but also had the luck of a telephoto. Just not the nerves to swap lenses on the fly quickly. Eventually.

If it is eensy, it might have fallen or gotten chased out from its nest. Hopefully it will be ok. If it is able to climb around on its own, that seems a good sign.
There are pages that show sample photos of squirrels at different ages, which might give you an indication if it was weaned yet or not. I remember looking that up when the dogs brought one inside.

I hope it does well, sweet little squirrel...
