My students were dismayed about his positions on women's and LGBTQ issues, but I see this as the Catholic Church trying to step up in defense of the largest group being marginalized the most. I think we're going to get a wave of really ugly anti-Catholic sentiment from MAGAs but maybe it'll tip enough people back towards the light.
