We're caught up on Severance.

I have questions.

1. Okay, but other than "because of when she was born" why is their new supervisor a literal child? Doesn't she have... school?

2. It's pretty clear that the Cult of Kier doesn't just exist on the Severed floors as another way to control the workers. But nobody... mentions it? Like, I guess it's considered a religion in the outside world and not just a cult, but still, you'd think somebody would have said something about how Lumon is owned by the Kier Church or whatever.

Or maybe they wouldn't've? I mean, I can hardly pass by a holiday Santa without decrying the Salvation Army, but maybe other people just... don't?

3. Lumon seems pretty intent on specifically having Mark work for them, even bringing back his old team. Why him?

4. Greeting them with a picture of "Kier Forgives His Betrayers" seems pretty pointed, if you ask me. But I really want to get the Cliff's Notes summary of the entire Kier Cycle. Not the scripture, which is obviously written in pseudo-KJV by somebody who wasn't much of a writer to begin with, just the synopsis.

5. Helly is a pretty nice person. Helena, I believe you too can become a pretty nice person! You just have to ditch your abusive family and their abusive cult and your entire life. It'll be hard to have your private estrangement play out over public media, but it'll be worth it.

6. The revelation that Milchik rides a motorcycle has not improved his standing in my eyes. I still want to punch him in the face, or somewhere else.

7. Natalie clearly only exists to make us feel awkwardly sympathetic to the worst people, but for some reason, I do not want to punch her. She's absolutely one of my favorite people who aren't in the main team! I don't know why! She is aggressively terrible! Maybe it's the curls? She does have nice hair.

8. For an enormous enterprise, upper and middle management of (this branch of) Lumon seems fantastically understaffed, with the same three or four people doing everything all the time. This, now, makes me feel sympathy for Milchik. Not much, but he's practically a one man show, handling all the issues on the entire floor on foot. They could at least give him a Segway.

9. What is up with the goats? Is this gonna end up like Lost, where they throw out a lot of weirdness and then never answer half of it?

10. Why, exactly, did Devon marry Ricken? I get why he married her, she's great - but... look, I'm just saying, this show could stand to spend a little time extolling his virtues. There's gotta be something.

Creator Dan Erikson addressed the Lost thing in this piece from the Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2022/jun/03/buffy-severance-good-place-writers-on-tv-twists

This more recent piece also touches on the Lost comparison: https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2025/jan/18/severance-season-two-adam-scott-britt-lower-zach-cherry
