So, I just got a plaintive email from Donorschoose.

Naturally, I went to their website and found the cheapest project to fulfill, and spent $17 on providing technology to kids out in, like, Montana.

And then on the checkout page I saw the words "promo code". Promo code? Apparently, yes - promo code! You can go right now to Retailmenot and get codes to double your giving, and I bet other non-profits are also up there.

So I now had a $17 gift certificate to Donorschoose, and I filled a NEW project at $8 and spent the rest here to get Elephant and Piggie books for girls in the Bronx. Because Elephant and Piggie is an awesome series. They could use a tiny bit more money - around $50 - so if you're sitting around going "Gosh, I need to deduct a tiny bit of cash to put myself in a lower tax bracket for 2015", well, there you go. (We should all have your problems!)
