What else made no sense, is the Star Trek reboot. The writers blow up two main canon planets/races and a key character, just to give young-Spock a reason to have an emotional reaction so young-Kirk can get one-up?! And that's after some dialog saying that Villain OTD had no reason for such explosive revenge, because the villain's own time track had been repaired. -- With all the time loops and such repair possible, they didn't repair their own?
