1. Another gay marriage poll, this time at USA Today. You know what to do with unscientific polls (especially the type that don't prevent one from voting twice!)

2. And something from LanguageLog.

Oh, and I finally finished Mario RPG. Well, I didn't get all the surprise boxes yet, and I haven't killed Culex, but I killed Smithy, so.... It only took me a few days once I managed to save it.

Hidden inside, you'll find the article )

All I can say is that this is really cool. The aggressive baboons were killed off, and now the entire troop is... well... okay, still aggressive, but less so, and they don't pick on the little ones anymore. And it's been this way for twenty years. There's hope for the rest of us, I suppose. And I will *not* post that color-bar about bullying, because I don't have the code handy, but I should, it'd be appropriate here.

Okay, here it is, modified irreverently to fit the topic.

I will not stand for baboons being smarter than humans

Mostly because I can't be bothered to check out the quotes myself, but then this person's comment bothered me.

Restrict is such a strong word. His stance however is not a ban on ALL abortions. His stance allows it in the extreme cases such as rape and incest. These quotes I think have been taken out of context.

I know alot of people who might be pro life but if you want it in these extreme cases then you would have to technically be pro choice (like myself). Abortion CANNOT be oversimplified by looking at quotations.

Because he isn't against abortion in the extreme cases of rape, incest, and (one hopes) maternal health, that makes him pro-choice? By that measure, virtually everyone is! I mean, really, is there anybody who accepts the definition of "allowing any abortions makes one pro-choice"? How many people in this country honestly are against all abortion? Maybe it's just me, but I suspect that the commenter is the one trying to oversimplify things, not the original poster. *screams incoherantly*

Okay. I'm done now.

And I'm pro-life because, while I support a woman's right to choose, I am against the death penalty, and 50% apparently ain't half bad

The phoenix icon is NOT up for grabs, talk to [livejournal.com profile] ezzicons about the base. The icons with the babies are NOT up for grabs, get babies of your own. Well, you know what I mean.

The rest of 'em aren't my decision about. I don't mind if you take any of them, but you DO have to talk to the icon creator. If you go to my userinfo and click on the default icon, you'll go to the page with all my icons and their keywords, the second word in the keywords is the icon creator, with the exception of [livejournal.com profile] xiggaroo's work. She's either uncredited or listed as Xiggy, so keep that in mind.
