Diagnosed with bipolar at 3? Wow... I'd want to see details on that. I know there are cases of early manifestations of psychological disorders, but they're not nearly as common. And 3 is so young... It makes me wonder when he started talking and how well he was communicating. It's hard to make a psych diagnoses without understanding what is going on from the person's perspective. I really think part of this is just that people don't take mental health seriously. That's a large part of why therapy is so often not covered or not covered well. For some reason both mental health and dental health are viewed as luxuries, even though problems in either can kill you. But people do love drugs. If you can give someone a pill for it, people tend to be in favor. I'm still disturbed by how easily I walked away from a doctor's appointment with a bag of serious psych meds that then proceeded to mess up my life for 3 months. (I was an off-label use.) But they didn't cost me anything, which was nice. I mean, other than some of my health, since they messed me up a bit.
