So you don't think I need to clarify that just because I said the idea was stupid does NOT mean that I think her grandmother is stupid? I mean, I don't think her grandmother is stupid, so it's not like I'd even be lying, but the whole topic of conversation at that point seems very awkward.

Why on earth did your grandmother believe that?
