You might look for George Papashvily's Yes and No Stories, the Pantheon fairytale & folklore book series, and the Dover collections of Japanese and Chinese fairytales.

The girls might like Chinese Children's Favorite Stories by Mingmay Yip, and Fairytales of the Ancient Egyptians by good old E.A. Wallis Budge.

There are a lot of Jewish fairytales and legends that are in the Midrash and can be found on line.
