Recent studies show that if they can get used to the pay decrease for a year, they'll normalize to being just as happy as they were before. Unless they have huge medical bills, severe illness or disability, they are above the economic line where more money means more happiness or less money means less happiness unless they fall well beyond what is discussed there.

I found it both funny and sad.

Maybe they need a kick in the ass to fix their relationships.

Although the negative effects on their health are less funny. But still...

I get a desire for some luxury. Some luxury is good for mental health. But if you can't manage your luxuries on those budgets, well, you have problems.
