And there are no real sidewalks, so I took the bus to pick him up. The bus drops you off directly. OMG, the bus ride is even *longer*, though.

Plus, my metrocard didn't work, so I had to make a pit stop to make change. Got him some chewies in the hopes that they'd keep him happy on the ride. They did not. All he wanted was to snuggle, preferably entirely out of the bag.

He's now home, calm but subdued. Not much interested in eating yet. Looks like he's about to fall over asleep.

I can tell you that at least in VT the weather was much hotter than average and I think that's what encouraged that rash of major thunderstorms that hit Montreal and parts of the area; they even warned us that it might bring 60mph hail!

Articles like the symbiosis one make me wonder if mankind really did right by removing hookworms from our gut. Actually, given how I spent the other night gasping as I fell asleep despite taking Benadryl, I'm really wondering if I should take a trip across the border...

And no kidding on the dental bit. I have dental coverage and I'm still anxious about ever going to a dentist because of the costs. Most of the stuff I've done manually, even pulling teeth out by the roots. I know the cost is severely lessened, but I also know if I go, then they'll probably want to overhaul my mouth with all the work they'll probably have to do since I've never gone in.

And while I know MJ's purpose for titling their article that way, I think we all know why Trump is avoiding to provide jobs. ;) I absolutely agree with them though, especially since "Energy independence!" was a mantra we lived with for years from the GOP side of things when it came to justify fracking, so it's only fair that they take it to another level by allowing it to be controlled at a more domestic level through installation of these sites.

I am curious about the noise issues though, since that's all the complaints I keep hearing aside from the birds (the latter of which is a loaded one imo) although I can also say that I have experienced spending a few nights not too far from one and was comfortable with the sound (this was around a shore town though, mind you, so it's not exactly quiet there).

Just one more addendum: I've given up on the Trump train riders. At this point, I think they've sold their soul to this quest and just can't bear to jump off a vehicle set to explode. I sadly know a few of them, and I think they're too proud to admit they were conned, not unlike that Florida contractor who is still waiting to get paid by him.

Edit: Okay, I lied, just ONE more addendum and only because it corroborates with your article on dentistry and I just caught it today thinking of you: this neat piece from Undark. I just realized that it corroborates a lot with the WaPo article but may offer a few more nuggets of knowledge to mingle with the rest.

I also warned that it might be long because it's an "Undark" article, but this is one of their shorter ones, so never mind. Derp on me.

Thanks for the link to the story by Ted Chiang, it's been on my to-read list but had sort of forgotten about it. It went quite some way fulfilling my desire to read truly speculative romance besides being a captivating story otherwise too.

edit: oops, replied to wrong post but ah well.
